2026 Big Changes Happening

Retirement Isn’t the End—It’s a Turning Point

This year, we did something we never quite imagined we would do.

We retired from being floral shop owners.

For years, our days were measured in stems and seasons—early mornings at the market, long days designing, holidays that weren’t really holidays, and the quiet satisfaction of creating something meaningful for life’s biggest moments. Being a florist wasn’t just a job; it was an identity, a rhythm, a way of showing up in the world.

So when we say “retired,” it might sound like an ending. But it doesn’t feel that way.

Retirement, as it turns out, isn’t about quitting. It’s about listening. It’s about acknowledging that a chapter—one we loved deeply—has come to its natural close, and giving ourselves permission to ask a new question:

What’s next?

We’re not done creating. We’re not done working.
And we’re definitely not done dreaming.

This season of retirement looks less like slowing down and more like shifting direction. It’s space to breathe, to reflect, and to explore paths that were always there but never had room to grow while the shop demanded our full hearts and hands.

There’s a strange mix of emotions that comes with this transition—gratitude, nostalgia, relief, excitement, and a little uncertainty. Letting go of something you built from the ground up is no small thing. But neither is the opportunity to reinvent yourself with the wisdom of experience behind you.

We don’t have all the answers yet—and that’s part of the beauty of it.

This is a season of exploration, of trying on new ideas, of following threads that feel interesting and alive. Some paths may unfold quickly; others may take time. What matters is that we’re open, present, and willing to discover what’s next rather than forcing it.

If you’re reading this and find yourself in a similar place—retired, nearing retirement, or simply sensing a shift—consider this an invitation. Not to quit, but to reimagine. Not to slow down completely, but to choose more intentionally how and where your energy goes.

We’re excited to share parts of this journey as it unfolds. What comes next may look different than what came before—but different doesn’t mean lesser. Sometimes, it means more aligned than ever.

Thank you for being here. This next chapter is just beginning.
